Desmond Winchester is one of the greatest exponents of the piano in his family, and furthermore, the only one.  He can frequently be heard playing the piano in the front room of his London home; he was recently heard playing the Vingt Regards of Olivier Messiaen by a passing neighbour who said, “It was wonderful”, referring to the point at which it finished.  He has also composed works for the piano, the most famous of which is “Languid Lawns” a profoundly melancholic piece which was most recently performed at one of the Simpson Family Christmas Concerts.  The audience could hardly stop weeping.  Desmond has been a faithful supporter of the Montfrin musical scene where he has turned up, turned pages for other pianists at random moments of personal choice, been turned against and turned the other cheek.
